What Is an Offer Letter?

When an Australian university accepts your application, they issue an Offer Letter. This is the university's formal invitation — but it is NOT the document you use for a visa application.

Conditional Offer

A conditional offer means the university has accepted you subject to conditions — usually: provide a certified IELTS score, final +2 or bachelor's transcripts, or complete a pre-sessional English program. You must satisfy all conditions to progress to enrolment.

Unconditional Offer

All your documents have been verified. The university is ready to enrol you. Pay the acceptance fee (typically 1st semester tuition) and they will issue your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).

CoE — The Visa Document

The Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) is the document you attach to your ImmiAccount visa application. Each CoE has a unique code. If you are doing two courses (e.g., foundation + bachelor), you'll have two CoEs — attach both.

Acceptance Fees

Most universities require first-semester tuition as an enrollment fee. This is typically AUD 8,000–18,000 and is usually non-refundable once the CoE is issued. Read the refund policy carefully before paying.
