NEB Grading vs Australian GPA

Australia uses a 4.0 or 7.0 GPA scale depending on the university. Nepali NEB grades (A+, A, B+, B, C+, C, D) are generally assessed as follows: A+ = High Distinction, A = Distinction, B+ = Credit, B = Pass. Most universities convert holistically rather than mechanically.

Percentage to Grade Equivalency

  • 80%+ in +2 or bachelor's → generally equivalent to Australian "Distinction" entry level
  • 60–79% → standard entry for most postgraduate courses
  • Below 60% → may need a pathway program or higher IELTS to compensate

Tribhuvan University (TU) Bachelor's

TU degrees are recognised by all Australian universities for postgraduate admission. A TU bachelor's with 60%+ aggregate qualifies for master's programs at most institutions. Some assessors request a WES (World Education Services) evaluation — check if your target university requires it.

Transcript Requirements

Submit transcripts for all years/semesters. Australian universities want to see the full academic journey. Transcripts should be in English; if originally in Nepali, include a certified English translation.
